#BookReview : Everyday πŸ“šπŸ“

I finished this book on 6th March 2018

It was meant to be completed last month, but I wasn’t putting much effort into reading it every day. However, last night I was trying my luck to see if I could finish it and I did. I only had a little bit left and took a couple of hours to do so.

When you finally finish a book, you realise there is nothing to read anymore.. unless you have the next one lined up. Who knows..

The irony..

The story is set in America, mainly situating in different towns/cities. One main location in the book is high school, where mostly everything happens apart from in the respected houses.

This one showed A’s side of the story and how things were with Rhiannon. You get to see the interactions from his point of view. However, we also got see the daily struggles he faced in life. He was a different person each day in a different body, trying to integrate himself in society and it can become a problem. Especially, at certain points he was pressuring Rhiannon to accept him, even though she was in a relationship with Justin at the time.

He has grown attached to her, because he felt secure. She understood and talked with him. However, she also knew when to set boundaries with him, because the multiple characters of A were too much to handle. Eventually, her relationship with Justin ended and A saw that as a chance to move in. Rhiannon remained firm in his choice to remain friends. She was fresh out of a relationship, so she doesn’t needed any added stress to her life.

Although, this was something A didn’t want to hear, he had to respect her decision.

This book is something I have not read before and I don’t mean it as in I haven’t read books. I mean as in it’s different to others I’ve read. I don’t know whether it’s meant to be comical, but you can’t help but laugh and giggle some of the content. It feels way more personal, it was like reading a diary entry. The day was noted for each new chapter, to show the change in character and new day.

This was the second part to David Levithan’s Another Day. I have previously done a book review on that one, so you can check it out #BookReview : Another Day By David Levithan πŸ“š. Whereas the first book was more serious, this book was funnier. You can definitely tell the two perspectives apart. You hear the story from a girls side and the boys side. In the circumstance, the male view doesn’t have a stern approach. It has a more of a breezing through life feel. Rhiannon telling the story had more depth and emotion to it. You could sense her up and downs and how she dealt with them. A spoke about it in a grounded, practical way. He gave detailed explanations on a day to day basis  of what he was thinking and what was happening around him that day.

Overall, I enjoyed reading the book, because it made sense to read both back to back. Two points of view helps gain a clearer insight into the story as a whole. It helped fill in the gaps that wouldn’t of necessarily been filled with one piece of information. If you are going to read it, I’d recommended getting both books, so you’re not either confused or left on a cliffhanger.

It’s available to buy at your local bookstore & WHSmith.

The price ranges between Β£7-10.

Brief facts about naps

Hello, back with a new post in March☺️

I was inspired to write this post after having a nap yesterday (1/3/18).

FACTS ABOUT NAPS – YOUTUBE

Naps have been with us since the age of time. It is commonly known to be able to take one at any given point of the day. It’s nice preferably to have it whilst in bed, however that is not always possible. So, you have to make do with the environment you have.

In the video link, it shows how important and what naps does to/for us. It is recommend to take short naps, but no longer than 90 mins. As it can mess up your natural sleeping pattern, affecting your REM sleep. I think this is why when you sleep during the day, it is harder to go to bed when it’s actual bedtime.

I did further research into this topic, by googling more about naps. This led me to serotonin and dopamine. These two are affected when you experience pleasurable moments. Meanwhile naps help regulate your bodily functions. It enables it to have its time to recharge and repair. I can see why in certain countries/companies allows their staff to sleep. It must produce a efficient workforce. Otherwise it wouldn’t be applicable.

There are more ways to boost serotonin and dopamine:

WAYS TO BOOST SEROTONIN + DOPAMINE (NATURALLY)

If you would like to look into it further or even research the two separately. Information is available on the both for thorough understanding.

How productive do you think naps are? Leave your comments belowπŸ‘‡πŸΎ

Speaking Rhyme Time πŸŽΆπŸ‘―‍♀️

In the morning where the sun shines

Today is a day that is all mine

Wondering what you have to do with time

Be your own hope and everything will be fine

Sometimes it won’t be possible

That don’t mean your life will decline

In the midst of trouble, remain subtle

Keep something by your side

Water in a tin bottle

All the inconsistencies in the world

It would be hard to spot ’em all

Dizzee Rascal was the guy

That told us to stand up tall

The rays are an early morning wake up call

5 Tips For Everyday UseπŸ“

Hello,

It’s Sunday afternoon and I’d like to share 5 tips that I’ve come up with this week. It’s for everyday use; you may want to incorporate into your daily lives. Hopefully it will of some help to you to make things easier.

It’s random, because it can just appear at any moment. These are the one I’ve found belowπŸ‘‡πŸΎ

  • Health: Nuts are good for the digestive system. They are gut cleaners. Tropical mix, it’s the packet with different types of nuts and fruits or any other you fancy/like.
  • Finance: Get your contactless to stop working, so then you’re forced to spend less money. Say no to spontaneous taps here and there. Preferably, take out cash when you can. It will make you less inclined to use your card, as it’s physical rather than something you can’t see.
  • Food Experimentation:Β This is something I tried yesterday and this morning. If you usually follow a strict way of making something. Figure out another way you can make it and see how it comes out. You might discover you like it that way and then you can add & subtract how and what you do with it.
  • Massage Therapy DIY: Give yourself a back massage and stretch in the morning. It releases all your pressure points.
  • Exercise:Β If you don’t like gym cardio, incorporate walking into your routine.

Previously, I’ve written two posts on this matter, check them out:

Silent Presence🌟✨

I look to you when I am in doubt

I don’t separate myself unless you hold me out

If you wasn’t by my side, I’d lose myself without a doubt

Everything that has happened till today will amount

When times get tough, just know you can count

Grant me the serenity so I don’t leap before I mount

When darkness is shown, remember He is the light

Find yourself with the love He provides

Cleanse away your sins that are in mind

At some point you realise you wasted time

Now it’s all about creating present life for clearer future times

#Photography: A Trip In Sight πŸ™πŸ“·

Walk and stop..

This post was written on the 22nd February: I’ll be referring to the events from that date.

The dialogue:

You know when you mix up dates, so you convert your plans into a productive session. I wish I had the canon with me, but these photos were unexpectedly taken. The professional camera would of given me clearer shots. Oh well, maybe next time I can get some good shots on my next trip.

It wasn’t too cold tonight. It was a bit breezy, but nothing you can’t handle without a warm coat and winter accessories (scarf, gloves + hat). We’re coming to the end of February, so March is round the corner.

I hear Spring calling, that means more sun, and also the occasionally sprouts of rain to deal with it. Rain and sun go together; it’s nice when it forms a rainbow. Other than that, you can enjoy it from where ever you are in the world.

Take a look at the photographs I took yesterday:Β

DIY Nail Extensions: Art Attack SplashπŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸŽ¨πŸ’ͺ🏾

HeyyyπŸ™‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Art attack splash is the name of this design. It came to me during the day yesterday and I thought it would be perfect for it. I started off with purple and orange, deciding to jazz up the colour by mixing it with black and white dots. I didn’t have a finite idea in my mind, so I went with it as it went along. Obviously, I had to remember what colors worked well together in order for it to stay pleasurable to the eye.

For this look, I used a nail art tool. It had an end like a ball tip pen and that’s what made the dots. You really get engrossed with the design whilst doing it. You are focussed on getting the dots in the right places and figuring out where to place them on the nail bed. This encourages you to explore further into what you are doing and how to expand beyond what you expected.

Another secret I’d share with you guys, this is first time I did complete acrylic nails at home. Kiss sells an acrylic nail kit which you can use at home. In the packet, it has the powder and solution to make the paste and all you do is spread it across the fake tip and the remaining surface of your nails to create an even surface. If you are new to this, I’ll admit it can be tricky, because it is not something you do every day.

However, I do believe practice makes perfect, so it might take a couple of try before you become a ‘pro’ at it. It also includes a brush, I’m not that fond of the brush, it is quite thick, it should come with flat brush instead, but that can be purchase separately. You will also need a small dappening dish to put the solution in. Preferably, a mask or open your window to air out the room because the fumes are so strong.

Overall, the whole process took longer than usual. It was definitely 1 hr 30 + , I wasn’t keeping track but I could tell something was different. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed the BTS story about how I done this.

When The Tooth Fairy Doesn’t Visit #WisdomTeethRemovalβ›‘πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€βš•οΈ

Hello☺️

When we were younger, there was concept about the ‘tooth fairy’ coming to visit when we lost our teeth. The one that would carefully place money underneath our pillows as a reward for losing those baby teeth. It had been so long ago, I’d forgotten about it. Until today when I had a regular check up. He reminded me that I needed to get a tooth removed.

NHS Dental care is so expensive nowadays, I can see why people would want to avoid going. They can charge huge prices to settle problems or corrections. However this all depends on what you need done and what band your treatment falls into. I remember one time reading the treatment sheet and seeing charges can go up to Β£350+.

5 Signs You Might Need Your Wisdom Teeth Removed

Why do you think they charge so much?Leave your comments below

Also, if you receive benefits or have anything else that allows your costs to be reduced. You could be more inclined to go, because it won’t charge you as much as another person. Which ever way you look at it, it still make you second guess whether to attend your visit. Some people are not ready, because they dislike dentist surgeries and the whole experience in general. Others are affected by the costs of the procedures.

Overall, its a personal decision to be made. I think it is beneficial to go, because you have something left untreated, it can damage or affect you and your well-being in the long run. So I’d recommend getting check ups, when they write to you in the post. You don’t even need to go out of your way. Set aside a day for the trip, so you have time to yourself without anything else planned (this is helpful, just incase you have something booked). You never know how much difference the visit can make for you.

Now as adult, I’m sure we don’t believe in the tooth fairy story anymore. Sorry but this time round there are no incentives for getting your teeth taken out. (Apart from if it has been causing you problems, you’re more or less likely free from pain now). On the bright side, what you have gained is a insight into your dental health and the ways to improve it by what your dentist has instructed you to do.

#Photography: Rainbow Walls πŸŒˆβ˜€οΈπŸŒž

Hello☺️

It’s Sunday morning as I’m typing and these photographs were taken not long ago. I was awake for a little while and this rainbow appeared in front of me. I found it interesting how a rainbow can form on your wall. Until this point, I was contemplating how to get out of bed. I hopped out and captured this moment before it went away. It is weird how random things can be exposed to you.

I played around with ISO again. The ISO for these pictures ranged between 400-1600 (from what I remember). I was too busy trying to take the photos, because I didn’t know how long it was going to be up for. I did edit them afterwards and add a border to frame the images.

Treat Yourself DayπŸ’žβœ¨

I think everyone should have a treat yourself day.

A day you spend by yourself indulging into your own bubble away from the ‘world’.

Enjoy the peaceful silence that occurs, somehow that silence feels safe. You know you’re not alone and protected at all times.

All you do is watch yourself and your steps, figure out where you’re going to take off next. We spend many of our days running around and doing stuff for other people, that we don’t always realise we are important to. You was born into this world alone (unless you’re twins, still then you’re born at separate times even if it is within seconds/minutes of each other).

You can find out a lot about yourself during that time too. It depends on what activity you’re doing or participating in. It makes you more observant of what’s going on around and others interact with each other. Β For example, today it was interesting to see how a boyfriend and girlfriend interact with each other. Especially, when they are talking in front of you, you get to see the distinct personalities between the both of them.

Also, body wise you can find out what’s going on there. I found out I have knots in my shoulders during a massage, so I was advised to use a tennis ball. I’m liking the idea, because I know it is going to feel nice running a tennis ball in between my shoulder blades to release the pressure held there. Your own homemade massage for oneπŸ™ˆπŸ»

For more information to how to relieve tissue pressure, look on this page on Wikihow –Β How To Release Knots In The Body

Wikihow is legit the go-to website. You can find out about anything on there. Occasionally, you get some funny responses to the issue you’re looking to resolve. I don’t know whether they inject underlying humour it in or it is just my interpretation of how I am reading it in my head.

That is it for this post, I wrote it because I started typing about it and thought I might as well continue to share the rest. It was a random one, but once you get the urge to write, you tend to not want to stop unless it is completed. You get the rare times when your mind is blocked but other than that you’re good. Also, I was inspired to write after reading another bloggers’ post on their page too.

Thank you for reading☺️
